Muskoka Christian School is helping the environment one battery at a time

The Muskoka Christian School is taking used batteries and turning them into cash. The school is taking part in an Ontario wide competition to recycle the most batteries per student. It’s hosted by the Raw Materials Company, and will have a cash prize for the top three schools. Ten per cent of the prize will also go to the Sick Kids Hospital. So far, Muskoka Christian School is in first place, with over two drums of batteries collected.

Bring any used batteries to the school at 2483 Old Muskoka Road in Utterson, or to various drop-off points like Muskoka Lumber and One Stop General Store in Huntsville. You can also get in touch with the school for more details, at (705) 385-2847, or [email protected].
