Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement is endorsing Maxine Bernier for the Conservative leadership. Clement is going to serve as Bernier’s Special Advisor.
Clement says Bernier has the ideas, experience, and ability to lead the party and the country. He says Bernier is the only candidate who can beat Justin Trudeau in 2019.
Clement had thrown his hat in the ring to replace former leader Stephen Harper, but dropped out of the race in October, citing a lack of donations.
There are now 14 candidates in the race.
