Huntsville Soccer Club looks to expand across the road in McCulley Robertson Park

The Huntsville Soccer Club is hoping to find some more space at McCulley Robertson Park for a newly implemented soccer training program.
Between 2014 and this year the soccer club began transitioning training methods to a new method called Long Term Player Development.
This new method was created by the Canadian Soccer Association, and it comes with some added benefits to players says soccer club President Dave Caplan.
The club had to work with the town to squeeze in just over a dozen 12 by 12 metre grids on the north field at the sports complex in the park for this new training method.
However, the recommended size is actually 20 by 20, and the club is hoping to build a new field for proper training across the road to offer these proper-sized grids.
The proposal has been presented to the Huntsville General Committee and members sent the request to town staff to put together a report on this new area.
If the new field were to be built in this location it would cut off a portion of the Frisbee golf course, which would require relocation of some of the holes for that course.
