Bracebridge honours National Access Awareness Week

Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith is helping to celebrate National Access Awareness (NAA) Week. Smith and Members of the Town’s Accessibility Advisory Committee recently raised the Town’s flag in honour of people living with disabilities and the barriers they face. Smith says access is more than just removing physical barriers; it’s changing attitudes and providing support so people with disabilities can participate in our community. NAA week started in 1987 after Rick Hanson’s 40,000 kilometer Man in Motion World Tour. Today, 15.5% of Ontarians live with a disability.
