Police Charge North Bay Man for Not Stopping at R.I.D.E. Check

Almaguin Highlands OPP has arrested a North Bay man in Perry Township after he drove through a R.I.D.E. check.

On June 25th at the intersection of Highway 518 and 592, a driver went through the program without stopping. Police ended up chasing the vehicle, using a spike belt and stopping the driver near Katrine. The driver exited the vehicle and ran into the bush and was later caught.

The 54-year-old was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, flight from police, careless driving and speeding.

He will appear in a Sundridge court at the end of the month.
