Over 500 students take part in a mental health symposium

It’s a meeting to raise awareness about mental health. The 1 in 5 Mental Health Symposium is happening today at the Canada Summit Centre in Huntsville. Students from Huntsville, Bracebridge and Gravenhurst will take part. One of the speakers, Lynn Keane says it’s a great workshop.

Keane will join a team of other experts to talk about mental health awareness. Keane’s experience in mental health stems from a personal tragedy.

Keane says in sharing her story, she hopes this symposium will inspire people, who may have a mental illness, to reach out for help.

Over 500 students will be at the symposium which runs from 9:30am until 2:30pm. May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
