Hospital changes food guide to adapt to patients with diabetes and kidney issues

A hospital has changed their food menu to adapt to patients with diabetes and kidney health care issues. According to the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital made the switch after several patients complained that the menu wasn’t good for their diet. Registered Dietitian Linda Ross Stringer says based on the feedback received the hospital knew that patients would benefit from a change. The new food guide was introduced in April of last year, but officially launched at a recent conference in March.
