Mandatory recyclables sorting comes into effect this Sunday

The District of Muskoka is implementing mandatory recyclables sorting. You will now have to divide your containers from your paper materials. Container products include plastic bottles, metal cans, shopping bags and broken glass. In your paper bin, be sure to have things like newspapers, cereal boxes, egg cartons or juice boxes. The District is also accepting textiles. All you have to do is remove buttons and zippers and put the textiles in a clear plastic bag. Tie a piece of material on the top of the bag and put with the rest of your “paper” products. Mandatory sorting comes into effect this Sunday.
