Latest Bracebridge flood situation update

Bracebridge’s emergency control group say water levels on the North Branch of the Muskoka River are holding steady, while the Black River levels are down. The South Branch, Lake Muskoka and the Muskoka River (between Wellington Street Bridge and Lake Muskoka) are rising slowly. The moderate rainfall and cooler temperatures helped keep levels from rising faster.

Sand bags continue to be available free of charge for Bracebridge residents and property owners from Fowler Construction at 1206 Rosewarne Drive. Fowlers will also be open tomorrow from 8am to 5pm to assist any residents who wish to obtain sand bags to protect their property.

Due to rising levels and fast flowing waters, all residents are reminded to stay clear of open waters,
creeks and rivers. Motorists are advised to heed road closed and warning signs as roadways or culverts may be washed out but not visible to the driver. The emergency control group will monitor conditions over the weekend and will issue an update on Monday.
