Local teachers threaten more strike actions after negotiations break down

The local teachers’ federation is threatening to increase strike actions in the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
This after a provincial mediator called off negotiations halfway through day one of talks between the OSSTF local District 15 and the school board.
Teachers want easier access to time off, but the school board is concerned if staff is away more often this could negatively impact student achievement.
The union also wants to make changes to how performance reviews are done.
The school board will be looking to arbitration for all of the outstanding issues.
And if strike actions should increase, the school board will be looking at all of its options.
