Bigger location and fundraising goal for the Muskoka Novel Marathon

The Muskoka Novel Marathon has announced their fundraising goal for this year’s event. Last year, the group surpassed their $15,000 goal and decided to work at raising $20,000 this year. Organizer Paula Boon says she is confident they will meet their goal.

The marathon happens from July 11th to July 14th and has moved from Club 55 at the Huntsville Civic Centre to the Active Living Centre. Writers have 72 hours to write a novel and compete for Best Novel awards, Most Prolific, Highest Fundraiser and several peer-voted awards.

The money raised goes towards the YMCA Employment and Literacy Services. Boon says the writers are an enthusiastic group and are dedicated to helping those with literacy challenges. All 40 spots were filled within 24 hours after registration opened on March 18th
