Norovirus outbreak in Bracebridge school declining according to parents

A recent outbreak of Norovirus may be the cause of some upset stomachs at Monck Public School.
Parents reported that the school was forced to send many children home sick on Friday due to issues with vomiting.
Communicable Diseases Manager with the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit, Anne Corner, says an illness like Norovirus thrives in a heavy population, like in a school.
According to parents, the school has worked with the health unit to clean up properly and the spread of the virus appears to be in decline.
Parents say the school is still asking that sick children be kept home to keep the virus from spreading again.
