Gravenhurst is officially on board with assisting Ryde with trying to buy it’s community centre.
On Tuesday during Committee of the Whole, council members approved a $25,000 addition to Ryde’s fundraising efforts.
Jennie Nice, with the Ryde Co-op Centre board says the group is very happy to see Gravenhurst lending a hand.
After the motion was approved by council a large group of Ryde residents gave a standing ovation to council members.
Nice says they are now at 73 per cent of the needed funds to put a proper offer on the property to the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
The tender on the property closes this Thursday.
