District overcharges handful of residents for water

The District of Muskoka has discovered some residents in Bracebridge may have been overpaying for water for seven years.
During Bracebridge council meeting, Councillor Don Smith noted that the district had found that nine residents were the victims of faulty water meters.
Smith says there is a bylaw that usually protects the district from having to pay back anything more than two years of charges.
He says the district will be reviewing this specific case to possibly ignore that bylaw.
