Local group remembers 14 murdered women in annual ceremony

It was a day in Muskoka to remember 14 women lost in the Montreal Massacre 26 years ago.
On Sunday afternoon residents from across Muskoka gathered at the Spirit Bear in Bracebridge to have a conversation about violence against women.
Executive Director of Muskoka Women’s Advocacy Group, Rachelle Walker, says women’s organizations across the country meet every year in memory of the massacre.
Walker says last year the two women’s shelters in Bracebridge and Huntsville took in over 120 women and over 60 children.
She says this is the second year the Muskoka Women’s Advocacy Group has run this remembrance event in the region.
