After a successful pilot project last year, Hydro One has announced they will be sending alerts in a different way to customers.
The company announced on Thursday they will be sending their customers email or text alerts about power outages in the area of their home, cottage or small business. Other than reports of outages, there also will be alerts about estimated times of restoration.
During their pilot project, the company sent out thousands of alerts to customers. To register, head to their website.
