The NDP is calling out Ontario Government on a usage spike in food banks across the country.
Here in Bracebridge, the Manna Food Bank saw a major spike last year, according to board member Gary Thompson.
Thompson says the trend tends to be seasonal, with some residents getting laid off for the winter.
He says the shelves are full right now but they’re still looking for donations to cover the early part of next year which he says is always the hardest.
