Tartan Theatre wins Outstanding Production at Sears Drama Festival

The Almaguin Highlands Secondary School drama club is an award winner. Tartan Theatre performed their play “Riffs” in the Nipissing District Sears Drama Festival last week. Club member Briana Catunto says they won three awards.

Grade nine student Punit Trivedi won a merit for his comedic performance. The club also won for Outstanding Production. Catunto says it’s about a girl named Grace.

Tartan Theatre will be moving on to the regional drama competition in Cobalt next weekend, but they need funds to get there. AHSS is hosting an Arts Night today in the hopes you can support the club. Catunto says it starts at 6:30pm.
