This week is fire prevention week, and the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is making sure everyone’s smoke alarms are working.
One of the causes of house fires is from chimneys. Fire Prevention Officer, Mike Vadija says everyone should be cleaning out their chimneys as the cold weather arrives.
Vadija also reminds everyone not to put ashes inside a cardboard box or on a porch. It will eliminate any chance of those ashes to potentially rekindle.
