Water levels still rising in Huntsville despite recent snowfall

The Ministry of Natural Resources says water is going up in the flood prone areas including the Big East River. Although some locations may be rising more than others, the MNR is asking those residents to continue to protect their property. The flood warning applies to you if you live around Rivercove, Bridgeview, Hutcheson Beach and Glen Acres. The warning also includes the downtown dock and Brendale Square. The Public Works Department has already closed Old North Road because of flooding. The Town of Huntsville’s website will have updated road closures and sandbag resources are available.
