The Huntsville area experienced some extra flashes from the sky at night.
Environment Canada is discovering different types of heat lightning happening overnight in the area. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the lightning is caused by other storm’s in the area.
Coulson says heat lightning can happen from a far distance. But, notes the reason why there is no sound of thunder is because the sound-wave dies out.
