Progress finally being made on McCutcheon Bridge in Vankoughnet

Progress is finally being made on the McCutcheon Bridge in Vankoughnet. At a recent town meeting, the Bracebridge Public Works Department made a recommendation for council to approve Fowler Construction Company Limited as the preferred tender. The replacement of the 109-year-old bridge would cost $907,762.06 plus HST. Public Works Director, Walt Schmid says if approved the existing bridge would be left there, while the new one is being built. He also adds that construction would start once the snow has melted. Council will talk more on the project next week.
