Bracebridge residents will be paying a 2.5% increase in taxes

Bracebridge Council has approved its 2014 budget and municipal taxes are going up by 2.5 percent. For the average residential property assessed at $200,000 it will mean a hike of $19 over what the owner paid last year. Lots of projects are being tackled this year, including needed roadwork and a new roof for the Bracebridge Public Library. A fire rescue truck will also be replaced and improvements will be made to Bracebridge’s Gostick Soccer Park. For all the
details, you can visit the Town’s website. Mayor Graydon Smith says council’s satisfied the budget continues a tradition of fiscal prudence while planning for future needs.
