New child and youth mental health program to service region

A new child and youth mental health program for North Simcoe-Muskoka has been approved for the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. The Local Health Integration Network made the announcement this week. The regional program is much needed, as our area is the only one in the Province without designated beds for child and youth mental health patients. It will include a day hospital and 8 inpatient beds and will provide a wide range of services. It’s to be built by December 2016.
