Muskoka Lakes’ 2015 budget carries a tax increase of 7.04 percent. This means residents’ tax bills will go up by $6.90 for every $100,000 worth of residential assessment.

The total Operating Budget is $11.9m and the total Capital Budget is $3.4m.

Net increase in other costs $233,977.

Capital Budget Highlights:

Majority of the $3.4m is for the repair and replacement of infrastructure;

Roads and bridges, Beatrice Town line bridge is $560,000;

Replacement of two (2) fire pumper trucks $800,000;

Other pieces of fire equipment required for fire rescue and safety;

Various other repairs to Parks, Community Centres and arenas
