Huntsville’s mayor is not happy with the District of Muskoka potentially hiring a communications manager. District council supported the idea. Scott Aitchison says not everyone was in favour and he has a big problem with spending budget money on this position.
The new position would be under contract. The first year the communications manager would get paid about $55,000 and $75,000 next year. Aitchison does say he understands the District needs to make sure the corporate brand is united.
However, if the District moves ahead with hiring a communications manager, Aitchison says it will take away the responsibility of council members.
This proposal could get final approve at the District council meeting on April 20.
