Bake sales in the works for Gabrielle Hickey and the Bushey family

The first of many fundraisers has been planned to help a local teen recovering from a spinal injury. Seventeen-year-old Gabrielle Hickey was seriously injured in a car crash, while she and her grandparents were on their way to an ATV race in Georgia last week. Her grandfather, Paul Bushey, died on scene and grandmother was sent to hospital with head injuries. Huntsville’s Robinson’s Independent Grocers is hosting a bake sale April 5th, with all the money going to a trust fund for Hickey. Meantime, in Parry Sound, Kawartha Credit Union is hosting a bake sale tomorrow morning to raise funds for the Bushey family.

An account has been set up at the Kawartha Credit Unions, across the district, to help raise money for the family. You can specify whether you want your funds directed to the Bushey family or just Hickey herself. You can also donate online at http://www.gofundme.com/7k3so4. You can also drop off your donations here at the Huntsville Moose station at 7 John Street, above the Cottage Waterfront and Grill.
