Bracebridge resort owner's court battle with police continues

There’s an update on a Bracebridge resort owner’s attempt to lay charges against local police. High Falls Chalet Inn owner Brian Coldin announced last month he’d started attempts to privately prosecute four people, including Bracebridge’s top cop. This week, Bracebridge Court staff told the Moose that a Justice of the Peace recently stayed three of the four matters, including the ones pertaining to Bracebridge OPP Inspector Ed Medved, Crown Attorney Ted Carlton and Bracebridge OPP Detective Constable Randy Graham. A stay is a suspension of a case or a suspension of a particular proceeding within a case. Court staff said the case against Coldin’s neighbour Anita Ramsay had been adjourned. The next court date scheduled in the matters is March 26th.
