A Huntsville martial arts studio is closing for good almost a year after it opened. Marchand’s MMA and Self Defence Studio opened last July. Owner Shawn Marchand says he tried to bring something new to the area, but there wasn’t enough interest. The studio provides classes in boxing, jiu jitsu and muay thai for kids and adults. Marchand says he’s sad to see it close. It was a passion of his he wanted to share and help people learn how to defend themselves, while having fun at the same time. He says he met a lot of great people along the way. The studio will officially close May 15.
