Car boot sale coming to Huntsville to support local youth programming

The Rotary Club of North Muskoka is inviting local vendors and bargain hunters to come together at its upcoming Car Boot Sale in Huntsville.

The event will take place on June 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Canada Summit Centre parking lot on Park Drive. Organizers say more than 30 vendors are expected to participate, offering a wide variety of secondhand items, handmade goods, collectibles, and unique finds.

The Rotary Club describes the event as a large community-style yard sale where vendors sell items directly from their vehicles.

“Car boot sales, or trunk sales, are like a big, relaxed, and fun neighbourhood yard sale,” said Rotary Club of North Muskoka president Andrew Zanier. “People with items to sell pull in, pop their trunks, and set up their displays, then welcome shoppers searching for some one-of-a-kind items, all while helping fund programs that make a difference in the community.”

Organizers say a portion of funds raised will support local initiatives focused on mental wellness, social equity, and environmental sustainability for children, youth, and young adults. Supported programs include Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions Kids to Camp, YWCA Girls Unplugged, and the Huntsville Public Library Summer Reading Program.

Vendor registration is $20 for a car or $40 for a truck and trailer, along with a recommended 10 per cent donation from sales proceeds.

In the event of rain, the sale will be postponed to June 13.
