Huntsville’s 2015 budget could pass at the end of February

Huntsville council is now looking at a budget with a 5.11 per cent increase. At general committee last week, council discussed the second draft. Mayor Scott Aitchison says this was a good experience for the new councillors who had never done budgets before.

The first draft was sitting at 5.23 per cent increase. Council is taking the next couple of weeks to fine tune the budget.

Council will look at the budget again at committee on Wednesday, Feb. 25 followed by a special council meeting.
