UPDATE: Flooding leads to road closures in Bracebridge, Muskoka Lakes

Two roads in Muskoka have been impacted by the recent weather conditions.

According to officials, Germania Road in Bracebridge is closed between civic address 1405 and Flynn’s Road, and from Flynn’s Road to civic address 1507.

Officials also said the floating snowmobile bridge over the Muskoka River near 154 Beaumont Drive (Muskoka Road 16) and 147 Santa’s Village Road (Muskoka Road 15) is closed due to increased water levels. Fencing has been installed to close access to the bridge. Bridge conditions will be assessed as weather conditions change.

In addition, officials said Beatrice Townline Road in Muskoka Lakes is closed due to flooding from 902 metres north of Falkenburg Road to 454 metres north of Falkenburg Road until further notice.

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid the areas and use extreme caution around waterbodies as water levels and river flows may increase due to forecasted rainfall and melting snow. Lower-lying and flood-prone areas may experience localized impacts.
