The new year has begun with a significant boost to patient care for the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital with a $1 million disbursement funded by community donors.
The disbursement marks a major investment in modernizing care and strengthening essential hospital services in the Muskoka community.
“Through your support, critical needs are transformed into real improvements for patients, families, and care teams across our region,” said Leah Walker, Executive Director of the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation. “It’s a meaningful step forward in ensuring the hospital is equipped to respond with precision, compassion, and readiness – now and into the future.”
One of the primary priorities supported by the donation is the implementation of a new patient monitoring system, which will allow care teams to continuously monitor patients’ vital signs in real time, respond more quickly, and identify changes in condition earlier. According to hospital officials, the system will enhance coordination across units, supporting a higher standard of care and safety throughout a patient’s hospital stay.
Walker extends the hospital’s immense gratitude to the donors, partners, and community members who are committed to ensuring continued access to high-quality healthcare.
“Every advancement, every improvement, and every moment of care made safer is possible because of donors like you. Please know how grateful we are for your continued trust, generosity, and belief in our hospital and the people it serves.”
