Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) students achieved scores above the provincial average in every assessment area measured by EQAO.
“We are extremely proud of all the hard work at all levels of the system,” said Wes Hahn, board’s director of education. “These outstanding EQAO results reflect the dedication and commitment of our students, and the expertise and tireless efforts of our teaching and support staff. We are clearly seeing that the strategies used in TLDSB are working and look forward to continuing to make gains.”
According to the latest results for school boards in Ontario from the 2024-2025 school year, the board reported continued growth in mathematics, with student performance remaining above the provincial average.
The growth includes a 16 per cent increase in grade three scores and an eight per cent increase in grade nine scores over the last three years.
Additionally, grade six scores show a six per cent increase compared to the previous year’s results, while grade nine has seen an eight per cent increase over the last three years.
The results also show that elementary-level reading and writing scores are above last year’s results and also exceed the provincial averages.
“To ensure personal success for every student, we will continue to use the science of learning and explicit instructional strategies to support students in both literacy and mathematics. Additionally, the intentional collaboration between elementary and secondary educators will continue to support student academic growth,” said Tanya Fraser, superintendent of learning responsible for Grade six to 12 Curriculum Services.
