YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka raises $34,000 through Giving Tuesday movement

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka raised $34,000 during its Giving Tuesday campaign to expand access to its programs and services across the region.

It was achieved through a partnership with local Home Hardware Stores, whose matching gift, combined with $6,300 in community donations, doubled the impact of gifts to the local charity.

“Our local donors truly transform their communities. Together, we create meaningful experiences for individuals and families – moments that build confidence, spark connections, and foster belonging across the region,” said Jill Tettmann, President and CEO of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.

Officials said the funds raised will help expand access to YMCA programs and services across Simcoe County, Muskoka, and Parry Sound, enabling individuals and families to live healthier, more connected lives.

These programs include childcare, camp, health and fitness, youth development, immigrant services, and employment support.

“One in ten individuals relies on financial assistance to participate in YMCA programs. Your generosity directly supports those who need it most, ensuring everyone can access the vital services we offer,” said Tettmann.

Giving Tuesday is a movement to celebrate giving of all kinds, celebrated on the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
