A symposium to discuss trails and tourism next month

A symposium to discuss trails and tourism will be held next month. The Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve and the Georgian Bay Coast Trail are co-hosting a Trails Symposium on March 4th at Canadore College.

The goal of the gathering is to provide networking opportunities for interested organizations and to discuss potential opportunities for trails and tourism to benefit from each other along eastern and northern Georgian Bay.

The Georgian Bay Coast Trail is hoping to develop a 200-kilometer rugged hiking trail alongside the east coast of Georgian Bay from Bayfield Inlet to Point Grondine with a series of easy-access small loop trails connected by a rugged linear coast trail.

Communications Manager at the GBBR says full registration for the event shows us that there is real interest in trails and developing projects to enhance trails for local residents and for tourists.
