A limited number of filled sandbags can be found at a handful of locations throughout Muskoka.
In Gravenhurst, they’re available at the turnaround on Severn River Rd. E., Sunshine Court, and 1054 Crawford Rd. while Bracebridge is offering sandbags at 1000 Taylor Court.
Officials with the Town of Bracebridge suggest:
- Securing everything outdoors, including docks, to prevent them from floating away.
- Make sure your sump pump and other outdoor drainage systems are working.
- Unplug all electrical appliances, so long as you’re not wet or standing in water.
- Move any valuables, important documents, and household chemicals to a safe place.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry issued a flood watch for the Muskoka River and Severn River Watersheds on Wednesday.
