Nominations open for Outstanding Bracebridge Business Achievement Awards

There are a few new options for the 29th Annual Outstanding Bracebridge Business Achievement Awards.

Along with categories for New and Established Businesses of the Year, Emily Brown, communications and membership manager for the Chamber, says they have added three new ones: Independent Educator of the Year, Green Initiative Award,  and Not-For-Profit Impact Award.

The nomination survey is available on the Chamber’s website. It will remain open until April 21.

Brown explains the award for independent educators is for those who support learning outside of the classroom and aren’t affiliated with a school.

The not-for-profit honour was put in place to honour the many organizations that fall under that banner in Bracebridge.

“That can be in so many different ways whether that’s social services, environmental advocacy, commitment to their mission, or innovative ideas,” says Brown.

She adds the award for recruitment and retention honours businesses that thought outside of the box to keep employees engaged or bring new ones on board.

“The whole thing culminates with the gala,” says Brown.

It will be held on June 13 at the Bracebridge Sportsplex. Brown says the gala will have a western theme.
