CLH running beer can design contest

Community Living Huntsville (CLH) is asking the community for designs, this time for a beer can.

CLH’s Jennifer Jerrett says they’ve partnered with Huntsville’s Canvas Brewing Co. for the “Better Together Lager,” which is a limited edition beer meant to promote inclusivity, unity, and love in the community. She adds a portion of proceeds from every can sold will go towards CLH.

As for designs, Jerrett says they can be done physically or digitally, with the winning label going on all cans of the special lager.

“There aren’t a whole lot of parameters. We’re looking for designs around inclusion, around our community,” says Jerrett. “So what would your perspective be around inclusion, what does that look like to you, and how do you represent that in the community?”

Once the design is finalized, Jerrett says they’ll launch the lager with a “Silent Disco” at the brewery on May 24. She explains each participant will get a pair of cordless headphones, which can be switched between different channels of music synced up with others in the room.

“Say I’m on the country channel, my earphones might be blue. So I can see all the other blue people in the room, and I can go dance with them because we’re all listening to the same thing,” says Jerrett. “The Silent Disco is really about inclusion, and fun, and just getting outside of yourself. If you’ve never been to one, it’s something you just really don’t want to miss.”

The contest runs until April 8, with more details on Canvas’ website, while tickets for the Silent Disco are at CLH’s website.
