Police looking for suspect after break-and-enter in Bracebridge

On March 18, 2024, police say one person broke into a fast food restaurant on Depot Dr. in Bracebridge.

Provincial Const. Samantha Bigley with the Bracebridge detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says an employee showed up to start their day a few hours later, noticed the damage and called the police.

When officers arrived, she says they checked the surveillance footage and decided the suspect had pried open a window the previous night, entered, and crawled through the restaurant before making off with a “small quantity of cash.”

Bigley says the suspect was wearing black running shoes with white soles, navy blue sweatpants, a black, long-sleeved shirt, a black balaclava, and black gloves. She adds they left on foot through a wooded area behind the establishment.

Anyone with information about what happened is being asked to call the Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
