Grants available through Muskoka Small Business Centre

Multiple grants worth up to $3,000 are available to student entrepreneurs through the Muskoka Small Business Centre’s (MSBC) Summer Company grant program. 

The application process is open now through MSBC’s website. The deadline to apply to April 30, 2024. 

There are a number of requirements for those looking to apply, including that applicants must be going to high school, college, or university in Ontario and be between 15 to 29 years old. 

Elizabeth Cornish, managing consultant for the MSBC, says they have been supporting area businesses for more than three decades.

“Summer Company is for students who want to be their own boss this summer, anyone looking at a career in the trades, or someone looking to build their resume or college application by demonstrating entrepreneurship skills,” she says. “The Muskoka Small Business Centre is proud to be able to provide this program and support young entrepreneurs in Muskoka.” 

Mayor of Bracebridge Rick Maloney says the town has supported the program since 2005. 

“The Town of Bracebridge is committed to supporting long-term economic growth and development and that starts with our youngest entrepreneurs,” he says. “The Summer Company program is a great opportunity for students in Muskoka to gain the valuable supports needed to start their own business and thrive.”
