The amphitheatre-style seating at Gull Lake Rotary Park should be installed by May.
Powcon Inc. began work on the project on Monday.
Officials with the Town of Gravenhurst say the main parking lot is only accessible from Brock St. while a path starting at the southeast corner of Brock and Bethune Dr. allows visitors to get to the pavilion and southern part of the park.
They ask residents to avoid construction areas and never cross any barriers.
The project is spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Gravenhurst who have dubbed it “Rotary Rocks the Barge.”
During the March 19 council meeting, Andrew Stacey, Gravenhurst’s director of infrastructure services, said he doesn’t anticipate it affecting any of the events scheduled to be held at the park this year.
