The District is making progress on adding child care spaces to Muskoka.
Officials say 87 spaces have been added since September, towards a goal of 373 new spaces and an average cost of $10 per day in 2026.
Stepping Stone Early Learning Academy in Gravenhurst is adding an additional 23, to be operational in mid-December, and 12 spaces are coming to Muskoka Home Child Care Agency. In November, 36 spaces were unveiled at Muskoka Lakes Preschool in Glen Orchard.
“This is another step forward toward more child care in Muskoka,” says District Chair Jeff Lehman. “I’m excited to see these spaces opening in the next few weeks as we work towards providing affordable child care for many, many more Muskoka families.”
