‘Let there be peace:” Muskoka Men of Song preparing for annual Christmas concert

The theme for the Muskoka Men of Song’s annual Christmas concert is “let there be peace.”

Ken Turner, President, says the theme reflects what is happening in the Middle East and Ukraine. Many of the songs in the concert will be related to the theme.

The concert will be held on Dec. 8 at the Gravenhurst Opera House.

Tickets cost $25 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under. They can be bought at Tiggs for Him and Her and Worth Repeating in Bracebridge as well as at Blooming Muskoka in Gravenhurst. Tickets can also be bought at the door on the day of the show.

Turner says there will be a number of guests, including past recipients of the Sean Kelly Bursary.

All proceeds from the concert will go to support the program which helps local students further their musical education. “Since its inception, this program has provided over $68,000 for this purpose,” says Turner.

Entering their 39th year of being together, Turner says a few members chose not to return during the COVID-19 pandemic. He asks anyone interested in joining them – or applying for the bursary – to go to their website

“It’s a friendly group and we get together because we just love singing,” says Turner.
