Catalytic converters taken off of delivery trucks in Bracebridge

The Bracebridge OPP is looking for answers after nine catalytic converters were stolen from delivery trucks parked at a depot on Gray Rd. in Bracebridge.

Provincial Constable Samantha Bigley says it happened overnight between Nov. 29 and 30.

“A catalytic converter is an exhaust emission control device that transforms hazardous gases and pollutants in your vehicle’s exhaust into less-toxic pollutants,” she explains. “Catalytic converters contain precious metals, such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium which makes them attractive to thieves.”

Bigley asks anyone with information to reach out to the Bracebridge detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
