Quick-thinking cashier foils attempted robbery

Provincial police in Bracebridge are looking for the person who is suspected of breaking into the Circle K on Taylor Rd.

Provincial Constable Samantha Bigley says the unknown person was dressed in black with their face and head covered when they attempted to rob the store around 3 AM Friday.

She describes the suspect as a white male in his 20s, around 6 feet tall, and between 175 to 185 lbs. The suspect was wearing a black jacket with a white marking on the left breast side and dark-coloured pants with a large white sticker or marking on the left knee area.

She explains the person gave a note to the cashier demanding money but the cashier left the store and called police. However, the suspect had run off toward Dudley Dr. by the time police arrived.

Bigley says nothing was taken.

Police are asking anyone who may have a home surveillance system in the area to come forward. Bigley says to call the Bracebridge detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
