Business survey to “help Gravenhurst businesses succeed”

The Town of Gravenhurst is looking for input for its eighth annual business survey.

The program was implemented by the town’s Economic Development department in 2015. According to town officials, the survey results are used to help staff and council set priorities and design new projects to support town businesses and “foster healthy growth in the community for the upcoming year.”

Staff with the Economic Development department have already started reaching out to businesses by email, phone, and in person. Officials say the process will continue for the first few weeks of 2023. Afterward, the feedback will be analyzed and used to create a statistical report which will be sent to council.

Officials expect the report to be released in the first quarter of 2023.

“In conducting the survey, business owners have a chance to be heard and share their experiences while simultaneously providing the Economic Development team insight on triumphs and challenges they have faced over the past year,” said Amy Taylor, Manager of Economic Development.

Notably, officials say feedback from previous surveys helped shape the Tourism Destination Plan and the Wharf Revitalization Plan.
