Family Youth and Child Services of Muskoka has announced they are joining forces with Simcoe Children’s Aid to become one agency. Co-Chair of the Joint Board Steering Committee Bonnie Greer says funding was one of the contributing factors to amalgamate.
According to the press release, the board from each organization conducted a feasibility study and found the outcome in favour of bringing the two agencies to provide stable services to all of the stakeholders in Simcoe and Muskoka. Greer says joining with Simcoe Children’s Aid was the ideal choice.
The next step in this amalgamation process is to find an executive director for the new agency.
Greer says services currently running at each organization will continue during the amalgamation process. Greer says it was a difficult decision to make, but they believe the new agency will be able to better service families and children in Simcoe and Muskoka.
