Almaguin Highlands Secondary School is in an upcoming Ministry of Education film about their successful Speak Up Grant projects. The Ministry sent a film crew last month to profile staff and students on these projects and the impact they’ve had on the school. Projects include a t-shirt press to make team and school clothes, an Apple TV to show student-led fitness programs, a Dine and Learn workshop about understanding learning disabilities and more. This year students are applying for two more grants for a pro grade printer to produce media art and a Dine and Learn workshop for parents to learn more about online learning. Speak Up Grants are offered to all schools across the province.Â
