Firefighters battle early morning fire in Huntsville for more than six hours

An early morning fire in Huntsville took more than six hours to put out.

Firefighters arrived on scene at a building on Allensville Road near Highway 11 shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Saturday. The fire was mostly extinguished by 7:30 a.m., with an excavator called in to remove caved-in walls, according to the Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Department (HLOBFD).

All occupants of the building managed to get out safely with no injuries. The department says the damage is estimated at $600,000, with the cause of the fire still under investigation.
